Es una iniciativa de formación abierta y flexible para el aprendizaje permanente y formación a lo largo de la vida a través de Internet, cuyo diseño está orientado al impulso y mejora de las competencias personales y profesionales de los ciudadanos, promoviendo además la cultura y la participación de los mismos en el uso eficiente y sostenible de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación.
Proporciona una vía de formación no reglada con atención tutorial a distancia a través de una plataforma de aprendizaje, junto con una nutrida red de aulas físicas, al frente de las cuales se encuentra un administrador de aula. La plataforma es el entorno en el cual se desarrolla la tutoría telemática y en el que se encuentran organizados los materiales multimedia y las actividades de evaluación del curso, así como las herramientas de comunicación y seguimiento.

1. Elige tu curso: accede a nuestro menú de Cursos, donde encontrarás más de 240 clasificados por áreas formativas.
2. Contacta con tu aula: Aula Mentor CEA Alto Guadalentín
3. Coste de los cursos: actualmente el precio del curso es de 24€ mensuales, siendo la matrícula inicial de dos meses 48€ (salvo en los cursos con certificación de 30 horas cuya matrícula inicial es de un mes). Posteriormente podrás proseguir el curso destinando más tiempo mediante recargas mensuales de 24€.
4. Duración de los cursos: los cursos se realizan a distancia, teniendo un tiempo de duración flexible dependiendo de lo que dedique cada estudiante al mismo.
5. Examen y validez oficial: tras superar el examen presencial, se obtiene un certificado de aprovechamiento emitido por el Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional.
Los cursos de Aula Mentor están diseñados con el objetivo de contribuir al Aprendizaje a lo largo de la vida de la población adulta en todas las vertientes del desarrollo personal y profesional. Esto significa que el principal objetivo de los alumnos que se matriculan en Aula Mentor debe ser ampliar y mejorar esas competencias. La metodología y las normas de funcionamiento que rigen el proceso están recogidas en el documento Derechos y deberes de los alumnos
Los cursos en abierto son iniciativas de formación con apoyo tutorial que se ofertan de manera gratuita. Disponen de fechas de inicio y fin, se realizan en una plataforma diferente no tiene examen presencial por lo que no se proporciona un certificado del Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional. La convocatoria de cada curso y las fechas de matrícula se publican en las novedades de esta web. El acceso a la plataforma se realiza desde: www.mecd.es/aulamentor Iniciación a las matemáticas.
Aquellos docentes interesados en realizar la inscripción de los cursos en el Registro de Formación del Profesorado del MEFP deberán acudir a un Aula Mentor para realizar su matrícula, señalando al Administrador del aula que desean hacerla al amparo de lo establecido en la presente convocatoria, aportando para ello los documentos que acrediten su condición de destinatario así como aquellos que permitan comprobar el cumplimiento de los requisitos adicionales en función del curso elegido.
